Just worked on a Pasadena house (that's my stenciled shade in the corner) with a lovely fully paneled ceiling. This one's original, but what a great idea if you've got things to cover up, like maybe that awful cottage cheese spray on stuff.Continue

Craftsman Copper recommendation

This weekend, the copper floor lamp that James Davies of Craftsman Copper made for me arrived. It's such a handsome lamp! The hammering of the metal is just beautiful. It's rather unconventional in that it's a torchiere, but I needed something very practical to light a large open space with 10 foot high ceilings. the "Keeping room"

It took me quite a while to figure ot "keeping room", but it's a room off the kitchen where family members would gather in the evenings in winter, so they could keep warm from the migrating heat from the kitchen wood range.

 

I now have my kitchen wood range all installed, with a brick wall behind it -- the bricks coming from the old chimney removed from the house.
