Hi - I've been lurking on this site and admiring everything for a few weeks. I am renovating my office (formal dining room) and living room in a arts and crafts style - not too heavy, a cross between stickley mission and metropolitan. Am totally ripping out terrible parquet floors. Because the two rooms are somewhat open to each other, I want to delineate separate flooring and am willing to splurge on hardwood oak - quartersawn. At least, that's what I think the beautiful floors in the magazine are made of. I also want borders or some detail using cross hatched wood. All the borders I see look too flowery for mission. The mission floors I see are either very simple - just strips - or very ornate or tile. Can someone recommend a website that has a great photogallery of arts and crafts wood flooring? Also, stains? Because I want that honey-ish, slightly red stain that just glows without being just shiny polyeuranthaned. And most of the stains look darker or one-dimensional. I am over my head on this. Also, am in the NYC area if anyone can recommend a showroom. Thanks in advance for any and all advice,
Deborah
